The FUNdamental Swim Camp

What camp is

Ages 3 to 12 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM June and July

A half-day camp that makes good swimmers better — and strictly a swim camp. Every morning has three swim sessions: two instructional sessions of stroke work and water safety, plus a free swim block. One week at a time, Monday through Friday.

Campers go home tired, happy, and swimming better than they arrived.

Who it's for

Swimmers, not beginners

Every camper passes a short swim test first — swimming from the backstroke flags to the wall on their own, in deep water. Camp builds on that base every morning rather than starting from scratch.

Brand new to the water? Start with our private Learn to Swim lessons, which run the same summer months.

This season at a glance

Camps run in June and July, in one-week sessions. Next summer's session dates are announced in the spring, and registration opens April 1.

Spots are limited each week — the earlier you register, the better your pick of weeks.

Is your camper ready for FUNdamental camp?

Passes the swim test

The test is simple: swim from the backstroke flags to the wall on their own, in deep water. Camp builds on that base every single morning.

Potty trained

All swim campers must be fully potty trained — no exceptions.

New here, ages 3–6?

Campers ages 3 to 6 who haven't swum with AquaKids before do a quick tryout before registering, so we're sure camp is the right fit.

Not quite there yet? That's what Learn to Swim private lessons are for — and next summer, camp will be waiting.

Questions & policies

What should my camper bring?

A swimsuit, goggles, a towel, and sunblock. We keep campers supplied with water all morning, and snacks are available for purchase.

What does a camp morning look like?

Three swim sessions, every day: two instructional sessions of stroke work and water safety skills, and one free swim block. This is strictly a swim camp — campers are in the water all morning, and they go home tired, happy, and swimming better than they arrived.

My child can't swim yet — can they still come to camp?

Not yet — every FUNdamental camper passes a short swim test first: from the backstroke flags to the wall, on their own in deep water. The good news: that's exactly what our Learn to Swim private lessons teach, and they run the same summer months as camp.

Does my camper need to be an AquaKids swimmer already?

No — camp is open to any swimmer ages 3 to 12 who meets the swim requirement. Campers ages 3 to 6 who are new to AquaKids do a quick tryout before registering.

Are there make-up days or refunds?

No — camp registrations are not refundable and there are no make-up days. That includes registrations for campers who can't pass the swim test, which is exactly why we ask newer swimmers ages 3 to 6 to try out before registering.

What if I'm running late for pickup?

Camp ends at 12:00 PM, and there's a 15-minute grace period. After that, late pickup is $5 for every 5 minutes.

When should I register?

Registration opens April 1, and each week has a limited number of spots. Families who register early get their pick of weeks — popular weeks do fill.

Summer fills fast.

Tell us your camper's age and swimming level — we'll tell you which camp fits and how to line up your weeks.
